We had a complete front yard re-design with a new curved driveway put in. It is a steep lot and careful pre-planning was required. Dean and Erik did the removal of the old concrete driveway, built large retaining walls, and configured the new driveway. The hardscaping project was done well within the timeline. This father and son company has experience in hardscaping and spoftscaping the land. By the end, trees were planted and a rock pathway was set. The garden beds designed by Dean were a good balance of rock and bark mulch. This company does honest work with integrity and skill.

 I would like to share our experience working Dean and his crew from Deano’s Landscaping here in Lake Country.  After an unfortunate experience with another regionally local landscaping company, I asked Dean to assess the existing work, repair and to recommend repairs and design improvements to complete the original vision.

Dean could not have been more timely, collaborative, or accommodating.  His workmanship was outstanding and surpassed our expectations.  Throughout the process, he guided us confidently toward exactly what we were looking for, and our backyard now looks amazing.  We have a functional and safe fire pit area made with natural materials native to the area, which overhangs the slope in our backyard, capitalizing on our views. 

This experience reinforces just how invaluable it is to work with an experienced landscaper who truly knows their craft.  Dean delivered exceptional results, and we highly recommend Deano’s Landscaping to anyone with future landscaping needs.  His rock work and ideas are incredible! 

Our retaining wall at our house on Dilworth was starting to fail. The house was built in 1996, and we moved in 2002, and the wall was already in place. It was starting to sag and show gaps. We made a few calls about repairing the wall with little response. Then I called Dean from Deano's landscaping.

We knew him from many years ago, and when we made the decision to replace the wall rather than repair it, He was my Go-To for advice and further discussion.

Deano had some great ideas on changing the layout and flow of the retaining wall, moving it back in the yard a few feet to give a better presence, and man, was he was bang on. The end product is spectacular - best looking wall on the street!

His team was efficient, clean, respectful, and kept us informed along the way. During the removal of the old wall, it was discovered that there was no drainage rock as a base or behind the retaining wall, and no rock in the bricks themselves. It was bound to fail! The new wall is vastly different - proper installation, proper drainage, rock, and foundation compaction. 

When I showed friends, who work in landscaping in Vancouver, pictures of the progress, they all had the same comment - "nobody makes walls like that anymore" - the pieces are fit together like a giant game of Tetris, even hand-shaping some of the stones when needed. Our neighbor across the street said it was incredible to watch the team place everything with such precision using the equipment. And people walking by during the construction all commented on how good things looked and that they were excited to see the end result. New sod was installed after completion; Irrigation was repaired and reinstalled as required, and all confirmed to be working and operational at the end of the project.

The process was relatively seamless and took about 2.5  weeks from start to finish, mid-April 2025 to just into the first week of May. This was a little longer than initially estimated due to the slope of the street versus the positioning of the wall; the brutal traffic on our street that doesn't slow down for heavy equipment, and the insanity that ensues when the little tikes take over the soccer field.  We also added to the job as it progressed to include leveling the RV parking and adding rock edging along the property line, which added time and cost accordingly. All in all, in review of the initial quote and the final all in price, it was very fair and reasonable.

The Quality and craftsmanship that Deano provides is well worth it and was less than what other similar sized projects have cost people we know.

We are extremely pleased with the end result - an amazing retaining wall! It is something we get to enjoy every time we come home. It has vastly improved the street appeal and has added value to our home.
